Yulia Potvin-Zhuravleva
Yulia Potvin is a representative of a "passionate" style of violin playing. Her musicianship has been internationally recognized by receiving awards from competitions in the U.S.A., Europe and Russia.
Yulia Potvin has performed at summer festivals such as the Eastern Music Festival, National Music Festival, Advanced Chamber Music Seminar, and Modern Early Music Institute.
As an orchestra musician she performed with renowned conductors Maris Jansons, Gerard Schwarz, Lidiya Yankovskaya and others.
For 9 years Ms. Potvin held a concertmaster position at the Union Symphony Orchestra in North Carolina and performed as a violin soloist. Yulia Potvin performs as a member of Worcester Festival Orchestra (Massachusetts), Roanoke Symphony Orchestra (Virginia) and Chamber Orchestra “Carpe Diem” (Spain).
Currently Ms. Yulia Potvin resides in Central Massachusetts, regularly appears as a solo and chamber music performer and manages her private studio. Ms. Yulia has often been called to adjudicate competitions and being known for her successful coaching preparing students for prestigious youth orchestral auditions and competitions.
In 2022 Yulia Potvin received a Teacher of the Year award from Massachusetts Music Teachers Association.
