The Semifinal of the Gershwin International Music Competition features participants from 20 US States and 11 countries around the world. You will hear the most exquisite performances of works in all music styles from J.S. Bach to Philip Glass.
George Gershwin International Music Competition aims to discover talent, reward brilliance, and celebrate musical artistry. The Competition is named after George Gershwin, whose music had long been a part of the American consciousness. Truly a pioneer in his field, George Gershwin drew inspiration from European classical music, American popular music, and jazz to form a unique style that would come to define American music.
Offering international talent performance opportunities, the competition aims to universalize George Gershwin's extraordinary legacy around the world. Performing Gershwin’s music for the enthralled New York audience, future “stars” of a musical horizon seek to capture timelessness in an eminent sense of sound…
Along with monetary awards, finalists of the Gershwin International Music Competition 2022 will receive concerts in the United States and Europe, recordings on acclaimed music labels, appearances with orchestras, alongside marketing/media promotion.
Founded in 2013 by American pianist and composer Michael Bulychev-Okser, George Gershwin International Music Competition takes place every two years in New York, USA, and is open to talented musicians of all nationalities.
Gershwin Competition will award $500 during the special Grand-Prix edition, November 2-6, 2022. One participant will be awarded an audience prize following the results of audience votes. Vote for your favorite performer today & return to the competition to vote again!
